Playroom Information

You must attend one playroom orientation for your child to use the playroom.

We have two supervised playrooms for the children of our conference attendees.

• One playroom is for ages 0-7 years old.
• The other playroom is for children ages 8-15 years.

Children under age 3 require a parent or guardian to stay with them while they are in the playroom. Older children who require one-on-one attention should also have a sibling or parent stay with them. Our supervised playrooms are a fun, safe place for kids to hang out and play while their parents are in sessions. Parents MUST remain in the conference center while their children are in the playroom.

We provide a parent/child sign-in sheet and ask that you leave a cell phone number. All children are expected to follow the main rule of “respecting others” and being able to follow directions. Parents of children who require assistance in the restroom will be contacted when needed. We ask that parents keep a cell phone on vibrate or a volunteer will come get you from the session if this is necessary. Children ages 3-7 yrs who do not require assistance in the restroom will be escorted by a volunteer who will wait outside the restroom to ensure the child makes it back to the playroom safely.

Children (ages 3-15) will receive their playroom backpack when they attend the required playroom orientation. Backpacks will contain art supplies and an activity book. We will provide additional arts & craft activities including all the other messy things kids love. We offer board games, decks of cards, puzzles, books and building blocks as well. We also have a TV/DVD player for children’s movies or video games.

Our volunteers (older teenagers and adults) offer guidance and assistance with all of the activities. One of the best things about the playrooms is that kids of all ages get to interact with each other. Friendships are quickly formed. The younger kids look up to the older ones and the older ones enjoy being a younger child’s new buddy. It’s difficult to tell the “affected” children from the siblings. They all interact together and form a mutual bond.

This is often the first place that our children discover that they are not the “only one.”
